Venus Could Erupt

According to www.esa.int Venus is volcanically active.

Galileo discovered Venus in 1610. He worked out that, like the Moon, Venus went through different phases. The planet has volcanoes and the last time one erupted was 2.5 million years ago.

Venus is, obviously, in space but do you know how far away is it from Earth? It’s 224.7 Earth days away. Did you also know that Venus is 108.2 million km away from the sun? But why is Venus volcanically active?

Venus has the surface that is 90% basset and about 65% of the planet. Venus is dominated by volcanic features and has more volcanoes than any other planet in the Solar System.

Esther, aged 10, stated that “I think that the issue needs to be looked into because if the volcano messes up, it could spread out”.

Egle, another 10 year old, stated that “ People need to fix this mess up before it erupts again and ruins our planet. If it ruins our planet then where are we going to live?”

Scientists are still researching and investigating the consequences if Venus does ever erupt again.
